March 1st, 2022 Update:
Maine Robotics Summer Camp information regarding Vaccinations and Masking

As you are all aware, the state of the COVID pandemic changes almost daily. While the daily numbers continue to drop we just wanted to let you know that we are staying as up to date as our USM rules can allow us to be.
AT THE MOMENT, USM still requires all participants in our programs to be masked, but that is likely to change by this summer as CDC, State, and USM policies change to reflect the state of the pandemic. We will follow whatever the USM policy is at the time camps are running.
AT THE MOMENT, USM has not ruled on whether summer day campers will be required to be vaccinated. At the moment they are strongly encouraged but not required to be vaccinated and up to date. Again, we will be following whatever requirements are in place at the time the camps are running. Here is the current wording we have to pass along:

"For the shared safety of the community, the University of Maine System already requires vaccine-eligible members of its in-person community to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and in many cases “Up to Date” with their vaccinations, or to obtain a university religious or medical exemption. The university also requires testing for Covid-19 in many circumstances. How these requirements will be applied to campers or other program participants in summer 2022 is still being finalized. Those who plan to participate in a university summer program are strongly encouraged to become fully vaccinated and to remain “Up to Date” to be in the best position to meet any potential requirements. The university’s various summer programs will update registrants as to any requirements when those details are available."

There are allowances for exemptions, but those also come with the requirement for weekly testing (at the moment). Please also note that unvaccinated individuals who have a close exposure to COVID must isolate, which means not being in camp. Vaccinated individuals who have a close contact can still attend camp.
With 4 months still to go before the start of the camp season, we anticipate that a lot will still change. But that is where we are at the moment.

December 27th, 2021 Update:
Several New Programs announced for the summer of 2022!

We're excited about bringing our 21st year of summer camp programs to Maine this summer. Not only has Maine Robotics moved it's office to the University of Southern Maine as we continue the transition, but we're offering some new and exciting programs.
Here are our great offerings:
  • LEGO Robotics program (21th year)
  • Build Your Own Computer Camp program (9th year)
  • Programming in Minecraft camp (8th year)
  • 3D Design and Printing Camps (7th year)
  • The SeaPerch underwater ROV camp (2nd year) and
  • The CubeSat camp (2nd year)
  • Algae Camp (2nd year)
  • Fun with Languages Camp (1st year)
We're still working on a few others. At the time of this post, we only had Portland and Gorham camps setup (and not even all of those).
We should be at the following locations this summer:
  • Augusta
  • Lewiston/Auburn
  • Bangor
  • Camden
  • Ellsworth
  • Farmington
  • Gorham
  • Portland
  • Waterville
Not all camps will be at all locations.
And as always, there is no charge to switch to a different camp (unless there is a price differential) so if a different camp comes online in January (or even February) then just let us know and we can do a transfer.
